IR Infrared Receiver Photodiode LED 5mm

AED 4.20

1

Description

  • The product is an IR (infrared) receiver consisting of a photodiode and a 5mm LED (light-emitting diode) encapsulated in a single package. The photodiode is a semiconductor device that is sensitive to IR radiation and can convert it into an electrical signal. The LED is used as a visual indicator to show that the device is receiving the IR signal.
  • The photodiode operates in reverse bias, meaning that a voltage is applied in the opposite direction of its normal operation. This allows the photodiode to detect the presence of IR radiation by measuring the current that flows through it. The black coating applied to the photodiode helps to filter out any visible light that may interfere with the detection of the IR signal.
  • The amount of current passed through the photodiode is directly proportional to the intensity of the IR radiation that falls on it. This current is used to trigger a circuit or device that is designed to respond to the IR signal.

Features:

  • Single package: The photodiode and LED are encapsulated in a single package, making it easy to use and integrate into a circuit or device.
  • IR sensitivity: The photodiode is sensitive to IR radiation, allowing it to detect and respond to IR signals.
  • Reverse bias operation: The photodiode is designed to operate in reverse bias, which is the optimal condition for detecting IR radiation.
  • Black coating: The photodiode is coated with black material to filter out visible light that may interfere with the detection of IR signals.
  • Proportional current output: The current passed through the photodiode is directly proportional to the intensity of the IR radiation that falls on it, making it possible to measure and respond to the signal.
  • LED indicator: The LED serves as a visual indicator that shows when the device is receiving an IR signal.

Specification:

  • Transmitting and receiving distance: about 7 - 8 M
  • Forward Voltage: 1.2 - 1.4 V
  • Forward Current: 100 mA
  • Lens Color: Black
  • Emitted Colour: Infrared

Applications:

  • Remote control systems: This IR receiver can be used to receive signals from an IR remote control, allowing the user to control a device or system from a distance.
  • Security systems: The IR receiver can be used to detect the presence of an IR beam from an alarm system, triggering an alert or alarm if the beam is interrupted.
  • Automation systems: The IR receiver can be used to detect the presence of an object or person in an area, triggering an automated response such as turning on lights or opening a door.
  • Proximity sensing: The IR receiver can be used to detect the proximity of an object or person, allowing it to be used as a proximity sensor in a variety of applications.
  • Communication systems: The IR receiver can be used to receive data signals encoded in IR light, allowing it to be used in communication systems such as IrDA (Infrared Data Association) or other wireless protocols.

Pin Connections:

  • The IR LED has a positive and negative pin.
  • The pin which is long is the positive pin (anode) and the pin which is short is the negative pin (cathode).
