Principle of Work:

Check The relay module:

  • Connect the relay module VCC to 5V, GND to ground, into GND, and the relay will tick, and when IN is suspended, the relay will resume, so repeatedly, you can hear the relay "Kaka" sound.
  • To test the soil moisture sensor module, connect the fork probe and amplifier module with two DuPont wires. The amplifier module's VCC is connected to 5V, and GND is grounded. When powered on, the red power light will stay on, and the green or blue light will flash once. If the fork probe is inserted into water, the green or blue light will turn on.
  • For the water pump, connect its red line to 5V and the black line to ground, and the pump will start working. Ensure that the test does not last more than one second and that the pump is not allowed to work in the air for a long time.
  • Once you have tested each component, connect the entire system, power it on, and check if the pump is working. The probe cannot detect humidity in the air, so ensure that it is correctly installed in the pot to avoid any issues.

Notes:

  • Running the water pump dry can cause damage to the pump, and it can also be a fire hazard. Therefore, it is essential to ensure that the soil moisture sensor is accurately detecting the humidity level in the soil before activating the water pump. Additionally, it's a good idea to test the system periodically to make sure that it's functioning correctly and that the components are not overheating or becoming damaged.
