The ESP8266 Test Board is a user-friendly platform designed to simplify the usage of the ESP8266 module for your IoT projects. This board allows you to easily connect and disconnect each pin into the ESP12 module using headers, facilitating quick testing of GPIO, PWM, ADC, and UART functionalities on the fly.

• Header Connectivity: Male headers enable effortless pin connection and disconnection for the ESP12 module.
• Pin Naming Convenience: The PCB conveniently displays the names of each pin, aiding in easy identification during project setup.
• TXD and RXD Configuration: Note that TXD and RXD are labeled upside down in the bottom 3-pin header. When connecting to a PC, ensure the correct alignment for seamless communication.
• Voltage Flexibility: The board features a 7333-1 regulator next to the 3-pin header, allowing the use of either 3.3V or 5V power supply, enhancing convenience for experimentation.

 

 PC Connection:

To simplify connection to a PC and testing, a cable modification is recommended. When connecting to the 3-pin header, use the following configuration:

• Connect TXD of USB2Serial to TXD on the test board.
• Connect RXD of USB2Serial to RXD on the test board.

 

Guide:

Firmware Switch to NodeMCU:

For easier testing, switch the firmware to NodeMCU. When recording firmware to the flash, ensure the jumper is connected.

1. Prepare NodeMCU firmware.
2. Update the firmware using NodeMCU Flasher.
3. Run the NodeMCU flasher, select the firmware file, and specify the recording location.
4. In the Operation tab, specify the serial port.
5. Press the Flash(F) button to start the firmware update.
6. After completion, the MAC address is displayed, and a green checkmark appears.
7. Close the program, disconnect the test board, remove the jumper, reconnect to the PC, open the serial terminal, and enjoy using LUA on the ESP8266.
