How it Works:

The vehicle relies on a photoresistor to measure the light reflected from the ground as it traverses the track. This allows it to differentiate between the white and black areas. When the black track is detected, the vehicle can adjust its speed, change its direction, or halt altogether. This is facilitated by the activation of a red LED on the PCB. This mechanism ensures the car consistently follows the designated track, making it an efficient and reliable solution for automated navigation tasks.




Assembly Instructions:

Step 1: Circuit Assembly

  • Begin by soldering the basic circuit components onto the PCB (Printed Circuit Board).
  • Follow the welding sequence from low to high component height.
  • Start by soldering the eight resistances, ensuring their values match the specifications.
  • Pay attention to polar components such as transistors, LEDs, and electrolytic capacitors, verifying their orientation as indicated in the provided diagram.
  • Note that the short pin of the capacitor is negative and align it with the corresponding marking on the PCB.
  • Be cautious not to overheat during soldering, especially for components like D4, D5, R13, and R14, which can be temporarily skipped.
  • After initial soldering, carefully inspect the connections to avoid any errors.

Step 2: Mechanical Assembly

  • Insert the universal wheel and screws into the designated PCB holes, securing them with nuts.
  • Attach the battery box to the PCB using double-sided adhesive tape, ensuring proper wire connection for the 3V power supply (red wire) and grounding (yellow wire).
  • Utilize excess wire for motor interconnection.
  • Assemble the three wheels, including the black acrylic sheet wheels, ensuring removal of protective film before assembly.
  • Fix the wheels onto the motor shafts with screws and attach the silicone tire.
  • Connect the motor wires to the PCB, ensuring sufficient clearance between wheels and PCB edges.
  • Be mindful of wire length to prevent motor rotation direction errors.

Step 3: Optoelectronic Circuit Installation

  • Install the photosensitive resistance and LED (Light Emitting Diode) onto the PCB, ensuring their polarity is correctly aligned.
  • Maintain a distance of about 5mm between the components and the ground.
  • Keep a similar distance of about 5mm between the photosensitive resistance and LED.

Step 4: Vehicle Debugging

  • Insert 2 AA batteries into the battery box and switch it ON.
  • Check the car's motion; the universal wheel should move in the opposite direction.
  • Apply pressure to the photosensitive resistance: if the car turns to the right when pressing its left side and vice versa, the vehicle is functioning correctly.
  • If the car moves backward, interchange the wiring of the two motors.
  • Ensure that each motor's wiring corresponds correctly to its direction of rotation.
