Connectivity options abound as the sensor seamlessly interfaces with microcontrollers like Arduino or simple comparator circuits utilizing an OpAmp comparator module. The module's adjustable settings enable it to generate a high signal at specific moisture thresholds, serving as an effective trigger for watering systems. This adaptability makes it an invaluable component in agricultural automation. the module features an analog pin that facilitates the measurement of variable outputs. This dual functionality allows the sensor to provide intricate details about soil moisture levels, empowering users with the precision needed to fine-tune watering systems and optimize various agricultural processes.

Features:

  • The signal on DO becomes low if the humidity is greater than the setting.
  • moisture and humidity levels in soil, providing valuable information for plant care and agriculture.
  • Corrosion and rust resistance - The probe is made of materials that are resistant to corrosion and rust, making it suitable for outdoor environments and providing a long lifespan for the device.
  • Compatible with different microcontrollers - The sensor can be connected to a variety of microcontrollers, such as Arduino, and can be programmed to trigger different actions based on the moisture level readings.
  • Adjustable sensitivity - The module can be adjusted to give a high signal at a certain moisture level, allowing for precise control over watering systems or other processes.
  • Analog and digital output - The sensor provides both analog and digital outputs, allowing for more detailed measurements and more flexible applications.
  • Easy to use - The sensor is easy to install and use, making it accessible for hobbyists and professionals alike.

Specification:

  • Operating voltage: 3.3 - 12V DC
  • Current (in use): <20mA
  • Current (digital output): max 30mA
  • I/O: DO/AO
  • Operating temperature: -25 – 85 Deg C
  • Module dimensions: 36 x 15 x 17mm (L x W x H)

Applications:

  • Automatic watering system: By connecting the sensor to a microcontroller or comparator circuit, the moisture level in the soil can be monitored, and when the moisture level falls below a certain threshold, the system can be programmed to automatically activate the watering system to irrigate the plants.
  • Plant growth monitoring: The sensor can be used to study the relationship between soil moisture and plant growth. The moisture level in the soil can be measured at different intervals to see how it affects the growth of plants.
  • Irrigation control: The sensor can be used to monitor soil moisture levels in a large field or crop area. Based on the moisture level readings, the irrigation system can be turned on or off, reducing water wastage and optimizing water usage.
  • Environmental monitoring: The sensor can be used to monitor soil moisture levels in an environment that requires a specific level of moisture, such as a greenhouse or a terrarium.
  • Research and experimentation: The sensor can be used in scientific experiments to study the effects of different soil moisture levels on plant growth or other variables.

Pin Connections:

Pin Description
AO Analog Output: Generates an analog output voltage proportional to the soil moisture level. A higher level results in a higher voltage, and a lower level results in a lower voltage.
DO Digital Output: Indicates whether the soil moisture level is within the acceptable range. D0 becomes LOW when the moisture level exceeds the threshold value (as set by the potentiometer), and HIGH otherwise.
Vcc The sensor should be powered between 3.3V and 5V. Please remember that the sensor's analog output will change depending on the voltage provided to it.
GND Ground: Stands for ground.

Package Includes:

  • 1 x Soil Moisture Humidity Sensor Module with Cabled Probe

Notes:

  • It should not be left in the soil continuously for extended periods of time. The probe can be damaged if left in the soil for too long, which can affect its accuracy and lifespan.
  • Keep in mind that your sensor may be more or less sensitive depending on the type of soil you use. Also, minerals dissolved in water from fertilizers and other sources can affect the sensor output.
